Mac bulk file transfers

By skohler ·
I need to transfer Macintosh files overnight between sites over a WAN. I would prefer to do this with NT stations at either end, or with an NLM to transfer server to server.

NCOPY will copy Mac file attributes, but will not support long file names.Other NT based packages will handle long file names but loose the Mac attributes.

Does anyone know a way to get this done? Does anyone know of a software package (shareware?) for the Macs that will handle scheduling of wildcarded (and subdirectory) file transfers?

I have two solutions:
1. ARCserveIT contains a feture called ARCopy which is an NLM copying utility with all the schedule features of backups.

2. I think Novell Replication Services will do this.

You can use the CRON.NLM and the TOOLBOX.NLM to perform various functions at the server to server level. There is even a COPY.NLM that will allow you to do this. The CRON.NLM will allow you to schedule the events at your convenience. The CRON.NLM and TOOLBOX.NLM utilities can be found on the NOVELL site. I used to have the COPY.NLM utility but cannot locate it right now. There are lots of NOVELL utility sites on the web.

Good luck and may all your CRCs be valid!
