Locked

Mac Kiosk

By aj.boonstra ·
Does anyone know a good way to lock down a mac for a kiosk. I only want the users to be able to access one web site and change nothing. I basically want the web browser to open and the user to be able to browse a single site.

A user account can be created using the so-called "Simple Finder". This restricts access to whatever applications and folders that the admin designates. Here is a link to a search of the Apple Knowledge Base for "Simple Finder":

If you really need to lock down the browser, may I recommend iCab--yes, it still exists--since it can be explicitly set up in "kiosk" mode, as you describe:

Hope that helps,
