Machine reboot

By mathurvivek ·
Hi,
I am facing a strange situation here. After installing Win2k Professional on my system, sometimes while booting, the system during booting prodcess, re-boots itself. This happens in loop and the only way to come out of it is to leave the machine for sometime (say an hour) and boot again. Then its fine.
As this is not happening regularly but sometimes, I can't blame the overheating of system as culprit.
Any suggestions?

1-run scandisk to check for errors, and then run your antivirus software to check for viruses
2-Check the video adapter driver it will cause this problem also.
3- You mentioned that that overheating is not considered, yet I would think that there may be overheating with the cpu,and especially after you can let the machine stand and reboot after an hour, then the possibly of overhaeting has to be considered.
4-Check memory modules

Loose wire to the front panel, or a memory setting error in the BIOS.
