Macintosh extensions.

I would be MOST GRATEFUL if someone could explain to me the nature and function of extensions.

Is there an equivalent in Windows?

Julian, forgive my ingorance I am not a big Maccer as you know.

I believe extensions are just like Windows plugins. Little apps that extend the operability of existing software.

Hope this helps you somewhat, I think you asked me before and I forgot to reply, sorry mate.

Not sure how it's going but I have looked again and from what I can see, MAC extensions are just program enhancements, again just like plugins.

Mozilla uses similar extensions to enhance your browser, such add-ons like 'mouse movement' for navigating, copy to clipbiard any hilighted text etc.

Thanks for the try Oz, but it is no more than a wild guess, and in no way answers my question satisfactorily.

In fact I know enough about Macs to suggest that your guess is way off the mark.

I am reasonably certain that there is no Windows equivalent of Mac extensions.
