Mail Merge

by rawle . Updated 24 years, 6 months ago

I’m using Windows 2000 Pro. sp2,
Word 2002 (10.2930.2625)
Outlook (10.2627.2625)
Lotus Notes 5.0.8

I’ve setup my form letter in word and I’m using Excel to store the records. I setup one of the columns with email addresses and can tell word touse that as the address to send the form letter to. The merge part of Merge to Email works correctly when it is run. The fields I’ve setup in the form letter grab the information from the Excel document. The part that isn’t working is the actual mailing of the letters. Whatever mechanism that is supposed to send the letters to the email address isn’t working.

From the research I’ve done, I think it has something to do with a security patch (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q263073) that Microsoft made so that programs can’t send without a confirmation from a user. I’m thinking there should be a way to disable that or set it up so that it will work with a specific document/user/program. To make things a little more complicated, I need to have it work with Lotus Notes 5.0.8 or whatever the latest version is and have as much of Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express removed as possible.

Can this be done?
