Mailbox notification to alternate recipi

Hi all,
I have an exchange 5.5 srevr (on winnt4 setver) and for a number of users i have set the alternate recipient to another user.
I have set it so that the mail is send to the user and to the alternate recipient.
When the mailbox is full, the normal user recieves a natification, but the notification is not send to the alternate recipient.
Anyone know how i can make it so that both the normal recipient and the alternate recipient recieve the notifications?
