You can add the defrag by:
Add Scheduled Task --> Next --> Browse --> C:\WINNT\System32\dfrg.msc
Open --> Weekly --> Next --> etc.

I cannot find anything on scandisk.exe in Windows 2000.

I tried that and it did not work. It just opens the screen for defrag.

dfrg.msc does not support scheduled tasking, in fact Win2K does not allow you to run a scheduled defrag without user intervention.

On the other hand there is a free utility that will run without user intervention and it runs very well as a scheduled task, it is called AutoDefrag and you can download it from www.morphasys.com

Copy the exe to the winnt folder and then create a scheduled task that points to this file.

If you have more than one drive and you want to scan only a specificdrive then use the following command
c:\WINNT\AutoDeFrag.exe x
where x is the letter of the drive that you want to have defragged. If you use no drive specification then AutoDefrag will defrag each drive in order.
