Make drives private.

By karthik_mynam ·
I have got Windows Xp - Pro installed on my system with four hard disk partitions. I have got three users and it is a home PC (there is no network it is single). Can you please tell me how to make one of my drives (F:\) private so that no one can access it.

Use NTFS. At the Command Promt type: convert F: /fs:ntfs

Then open My Computer, click tools, view, at the very bottom uncheck "Use Simple File Sharing (recommended). Click OK. Open My Computer right click drive F, select properties, security, remove the Anonymous Logon and Everyone user accounts. Add your user account, if not shown, with Full Control, leave the System Account as is. To provide additional protection encrypt drive F.
