Making A Localhost Web Server Live

by anewmanofgod . Updated 16 years, 9 months ago

Hey everyone.

Been a while since I’ve posted, but I’m running into a problem I haven’t encountered before. I recently have installed a web server on my PC (via Xampp). I have done this in the past when my PC was running XP, never had a problem. I installed the software and am able to access the localhost sites without problem.

From there I accessed my router and set DMZ my IP. My webserver is not being seen online. I went into an Open Port Check Tool, and checked port 80 and it says no route to host.

I’m running Windows 7 RC. My router is a Wireless Ubee Ambit Cable Modem. Operation mode is NAT (other options are Modem, NAT Modem, but neither will allow me to actually get on the internet.

Can anyone offer assistance? I’ve been working on this literally all day.

Much thanks.
