My image is 6-8GB in size. So using a thumb drive as discussed in previous threads isn?t a possibility for me. still I was hoping to be able to create an image, and no longer burn 50 DVD’s every time a new IAVA came out. I use GHOST 10.0 to create an image, then burn that image to my external Hard drive, then burn that image to multiple DVD’s making them bootable. I use GHOST because I have to use SYSPREP.
I know I can load an image from my external Hard drive, sense I test the image that way before creating the DVD’s. But in order to do that I first must insert the Norton GHOST 10.0 disk, then point to the image file stored on my removable media.
How can I make the image bootable directly from the Hard Drive, with very little user interface. Also if I can do that, and make it work on different computers, is there a way to lock the Hard Drive down, so that it can be used for anything else except to deploy the image stored on it.
I would really like to get away from DVD’s, they aren?t reliable, one scratch and the image is useless, and they really aren?t cost effective. The initial investment in External Hard drives, would be costly, but they should last for years to come.
Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
