Windows XP images

by smanches In reply to Making an Windows XP imag ...

We have a basic Windows XP image - windows os with all available updates - office applications (which ever version we are using) with all available updates, Adobe Reader, Reflections, Google popup stopper toolbar (we've tested them all and so far its the best that we have found). Pc's are configured for our network, etc. Then the image gets sysprepped with the mini setup. We use ghost to create the image and then begin imaging pc's. Once the image has been installed the pc will boot with the windows setup screen to enter the windows os key along with registering and activation options. Now you have legal versions of the os on multiple pc's using one image. We update our images on a regular basis to keep up with all the newest updates to any software we use. Saves alot of time when a pc crashes in installing updates, etc.

COA problems

by joeaxe In reply to Windows XP images

I have built several images but one is giving me a problem and I think its the "cd build/ver" and associated COA.

I ran setup mgr, no coa sepcified and then sysprep. Ghosted several machines and some do not work using the coa on the system. I am guessing some of these must use a different build/ver CD thus thier COA wont work with my image.
Is thier a work around for this other than a site license and additional licenses? I cant see paying for a license I already have.
