Making Fun of the Technically Challenged: News Story about TV Thefts

From the Atlanta Journal Constitution Newspaper

Headline: “Hey, TV thieves! Those flat-screens may not work”

The thieves are in and out in a matter of minutes ? gaining entry to a Smyrna sports bar in the early morning hours by using bricks to break out windows and doors.

Once inside, the men snatch 40- and 46-inch flat screen televisions off the walls, stack them and carry them out to waiting cars, police say.

But the joke may be on them.

?A lot of these TVs won?t work once they are taken out of the businesses because they don?t have the original wiring and they?re not stealing the remote controls,? said Smyrna police detective C.D. Singleton. ?In the past, with burglaries like this, we?ve found them dumped on the side of the road.?

….Note to self: lookout for flat screen TVs on the side of the road outside sports bars.
