Hello fellow IT Pro’s!
I am seeking out advice from any one who successfully made the journey upwards to being a consultant of ERP/CRM software.
I have a tremendous background in infrastructure solutions. I am an MCSE, MCP, MCP+I, CNA, and recently filled a position as CIO. I also was a consultant delivering enterprise infrastructure and line of business solutions based upon Microsoft platforms and custom solutions.
I have been trying to take my career to a higher altitude. I want badly to be a consultant on the ERP/CRM platforms. You know…SAP, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards, etc.
Why? The Challenge. The Scale of the projects. The thrill of aiding billion dollar companies maximize productivity and ROI by the application of these enterprise applications.
But how do I make the switch? How do I get the attention of one of these players or their partners? I mean, the way I look at it is this: not only do these solutions need Financial types, but they need programmer, IT types tohelp lay infrastructure and such as well.
I just can’t figure it out. If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to send my resume to you so that you can see I have vast enterprise consulting experience.
Advice?
