For 90% of the calls I get requesting help, I can almost finish the caller’s sentence. When boiled down to the core, the problem is described as: “Running slow and getting these strange error messages.” So when I voted in this poll it was hard to decide between malware and slow. Malware is usually the cause but slow is usually the symptom. Oh, that Antivirus 2009 has been an evil invention. It won’t allow antivirus programs to update after installation, so they won’t start at all. Normally I surrender quickly and try to save the mail and documents before reinstalling. That saves time in the long run.
