Manual Windows Updates

By hyoi ·
I've got a few boxes that I don't want to be able to connect to the outside world (SQL, Domain Controllers, etc.), and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to manually acquire and install Windows Updates so that I can stay current with patches without exposing them?

there are a couple of different ways to do this.

you can visit microsofts security bulletin Site and search by a variety of parameters for service packs, hotfixes. heres a link: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.aspx

you can also use Windows Update Service to download to a central location, service packs, hotfixes and then deploy them to computers you want to have them. Windows Update Service will replace the older Software Update Service. Here's a link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/wus/default.mspx
