Manually uninstalling IE6

By danny.cintron ·
Other than IERadicator, and Control Panel/Add/Remove Programs, is there a way to manually uninstall IE6 from a Windows NT 4.0 Workstation? Thanks.

The problem with manually un-installing any version of IE is the number of system files that are changed by IE.

In order to "clear off" IE, you need to delete the appropriate registry keys and restore the older versions of the system files that IE replaced.

If you used a system monitor tool when IE was installed, you might have a fairly complete list if the files and registry keys that were part of the installation.

Of course, you always have the option of formating the drive and starting over.
(Yes I know how much work that involves.)

Here's Microsoft's kb article on how to uninstall ie6. There are situations that could make it impossible to do so so read the entire article:

Good luck,
