Mapped drive disconnect

I have Windows 98 machines that keep losing their connection to a Windows 2000 server on the mapped drive link. We have replace all the hubs and routers but still lose connection to mapped drives at different times of the day and not all of the Windows 98 machines are doing this. Any idea’s
