I have a folder on my local hard disk that I share to run an application on. I have this network folder mapped on the N: drive, also on the host computer (I go in through my network places), and optionally on a few more client computers, via a workgroup setup.
(Win xp pro sp2)
The problem is that unless the host machine is connected to some kind of network device, it is unable to find its own shares, so that if I a m at a location where no network of any kind is available, I cannot connect to the N: drive even though I am on the laptop that is hosting it.
Is there any way that I can make the shared foldfers available on the local machine as shares, even when I am not logged on to any network?
Thank you for any suggestions.
