Mapping a User's Home Directory

By eric.fondriest ·
Due to the number of users at our location, we need to split the number of homeshares onto three drives (i.e. E:\Home1$ , F:\Home2$, and G:\Home3$). I need a way through a standard .bat login script to determine which homeshare to point the user to without having to split them up alphabetically, etc. Any ideas?

Thanks.

In these "homeshares" (Home1$, etc.) are there folders that correspond to user login names? Otherwise how are you splitting them up? In the first scenario you could use a BAt with:

IF EXIST \\server\home1$\%USERNAME% NET USE H: \\server\home1$\%USERNAME%

IF EXIST \\server\home2$\%USERNAME% NET USE H: \\server\home2$\%USERNAME%

IF EXIST \\server\home3$\%USERNAME% NET USE H: \\server\home3$\%USERNAME%
