Mapping Drives between Domain Member PCs

By sowolabi ·
I have what i hope is NOT a peculiar issue:
In answering to the peculiar demands of some funny software provider, i need to map the software's installation folder on all the PCs its installed on to each other.I run a Win2K AD Domain with XP clients, and Ive been having problems trying to do this through AD.
Im trying to do this as securely as possible, by way of logon scripts, but i cannot see the folders mapped. I hope someone can help me out with this..

Set up DFS and place the installation software in that share.

1.Add to the users accounts properties Profile\Logon_Script: Logon.bat
2.Share the application folder
3.Create a batch file:
@echo off >nul
net use Z: /DELETE
net use Z: \\servername\sharename /PERSISTENT:NO
4.Save as Logon.bat in: \\DCservername\SYSVOL\domainname\scripts
5.Try to logon and see if you have the folder application mapped as Z drive.

If the Z letter is in use, change to other letter.
If you already have a logon script just add those new lines.

Share the folder on each workstation. In your logon script you will then have to assign a drive letter to each share. IF you want to duplicate the drive letter then you will need to have multiple logon scripts as you can not have the same drive letter in the same script should look like this
NET USE F: \\WS1\Install
NET USE G: \\WS2\Install
