Mapping home directory in windows server???

By e_canaan ·
Hello there,

Can anybody please tell me how I can set up home directory mapping in Group policly in win 2003 server.

I have shared directory on the server. I want users to see their home directory mapped to a drive letter when they log on(i.e H:\home\%username%.
I know how to do it in user profile, but I want to be able to do it GP.

I appreciate any help.

Use a login script either as a VBS or BAT file to map drives
NET USE H: \\server\home\%username%

set wshnet = CreateObject("WScript.Network")
username = wshnet.userName
wshnet.MapNetworkDrive "K:", "\\server\home\" & username

Thank you p.j.hutchison for your feedback.

I'm hoping you can with another basic windows 2003 server issue.

I assigned some applications(i.e Outlook 2003) to be installed on some computer clients, yet when I connect to the server on the computer client the applications don't get installed.

For some reason, it only worked with the first client.

Do you have any idea??
I appreciate your help,
