Mass Password Reset

By church ·
Is there a script or batch file available that will allow an administrator to reset a large amount of user passwords at the same time, rather then one at a time in user manager?

You could write your own batch file utilizing the "net user" command.

net user <user1> password
net user <user2> password
.
.
etc

Add /domain at the end if you have a domain set up.

While both the previous answers are good they don't tell you how to do the change in large groups.
The Resource Kit has a utility called "AddUser" that will dump all your user accounts to a spreadsheet. You can then "copy and paste" in the Password colum for as many users as you like.
Then just import the spreadsheet back in and you're done.
