Master Browser Problems in AD

We have a Win 2000 Svc Pk 2 AD DC that lost it’s status as master browser when a PC client and a different server client took the status away. Neither of these computers are set for master browsing. We have a trust relationship set up with our old PDC for various reasons. Last week, we were having difficulties as PCs were losing connectivity to the AD Server. We repaired that by cleaning out our licenses for old PCs that are no longer on the network. Now, this week we are experiencing the browser issue. HELP.
