MaxRecentDocs

i have win 2000 pro. i want my document history to hold 20 documents. how can i tell it to do this? i know you can add value name maxrecentdocs as a reg_dword data type. i do not however understand the deciaml radix system. what entry would i put in for 20 documents and 25 documents?

20 would be 14 and 25 would be 19. In hexidecimal, the numbering runs:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A B C D F 10
11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 1A 1B 1C 1D 1E 1F 20

A-F represent the numbers we call 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. 10=16. So to make 20, it's 10(16) +4. To make 30 it would be 1E, or 10(16) +E(14).

Anyway you can click the decimal button when editimg the registry, enter the number in decimal, and say OK. Regedit will convert it to hex. Or you can click on the hex button to watch it convert itself.
