I noticed several postings re: Maxtor One Touch II. I used this HD some time ago. Often, I had problems. Eventually my problems led to corrupt files, etc.
I have since dumped the Maxtor drive. I lost too much data & even tho I was able to retrieve enough to not tear my hair out, too many complications/problems!!
I’m very good at troubleshooting, yet never cld get this drive to run smoothly (although I think it was ok at the beginning).
I do NOT recommend this product! If you are using it now, I personally recommend to back up that drive & not use it anymore, even if it’s been going good for you.
For the users that have already crashed one way or another, google search troubleshooting the drive. Maybe, hopefully, you can retrieve some of your data. I used so many different retrieval softwares!
I also noticed that many of you can’t find updated drivers. I suffered thru that too.
I don’t give up easily w/pc problems. But I don’t have any suggestions on what to do based on my personal experiences either. I tried too many techniques to jot them down. I just wanted my data off the drive!
