Maxtor OneTouch II, 100GB

by johnsonlisa33 . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

I recently moved our pc from one romm to another (actually, my non-IT husband did it while I was at work). To my surprise, he actually had most everything set up properly. But, my external Maxtor OneTouch II, 100GB hard drive did not seem to have any power. I checked the connections and changed the USB slot being used, etc. Still there was no power. It is as if the drive is not receiving any power whatsoever. This drive holds all of our important images, files, etc. I am hoping that it is not completely dead and I will be able to recover the files. Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

Our pc is operating with Windows XP Media Center Edition and the pc as well as the drive are approximately 2 years old. I have never had a problem with this drive before.

Thanks,
Lisa
