    MBR Prob May Be….

    Hello sir,

    When i started my system which is windows NT, At the time of veryfying DMI Pool Data… some virus detected and display some message. Then i started my system with 98 boot floopy and use to clean that virus with another flopy which will contain NVCLEAN .

    It is ask System-Boot-Area infected.U want to clean make or delete.It will ask then i use to clean then it say’s it will delete some file i think it is mbr.Next time i start my system with Harddisk then it say there is no disk detected.

    i hope it is deleted master boot record . Please help how can i recover of this problem and tell me how can create new MBR file.Any utility is there for recover or create MBr .

    Help me……

      PC Wiz has a couple of utilities that may help.

      You can download evaluation copies to see if they will help prior to purchasing them.

      Try tihs,
      Boot up with a DOS boot disk that has the FDisk.exe file. When @ A:\ Prompt, type “fdisk /mbr” then try booting with HD again.

      Yep, the fdisk /mbr option should do the trick. We have had similar problem recently & running this command solved it.

      Does fdisk.exe /mbr work on NTFS drives?

      Yes, fdisk /mbr works with NTFS drives.
