MCA from ignou

By nirman123_doshi ·
What is the value of ignou mca ? Has it been improved after revised syllabus of Jun 2004 ? I heard that most of the top-level it companies put aside the resume of a person having mca degree from ignou. that is, they don't even take the interview of ignou persons. Is it true ? or what's the logic behind this ?

Hello I am BCA student of IGNOU. currently I am working in well known web company in rajkot though I have not completed BCA yet. I pass company's interview for BCA knowledge provided by IGNOU book. Believe me IGNOU provide the best matirial rather then any local university. If you are stable then you can gain job in any IT company.

I am also confused

I have also opt for BCA and now didn't able to find a job in Software Industry. But what to do, its an open University which doesn't require any entrance exams to conduct the students, thats why the placements can't be done by IGNOU itself.
Most of the top Universities provides placements and thats why students from those universities get the job in hand as soon as they finish the degree course. If those universities don't provide placements then I think there will be very little difference between them and IGNOU.
So its all up to you how you work hard to complete your IGNOU BCA-MCA and might be some short term courses and some technical knowledge in any programming field will be an added advantage to your career.
