Go to www.nai.com, DAT files, and then download the latest one to your workstation. Unzip it, unload Netshild and copy the unzipped files to one of your Netware servers and load Netshild. Make sure that you other Netware servers point to the server you just upgraded. It their on a schedule then they will update automatically. As for NT that's another matter.

There's a great tool called Backweb, a joint venture between Novell and Network Associates. You can buy a license from Novell or if you have Managewise, you can get Backweb free by download from Novell's website.
Anyway, it will give you all the latest DAT files and patches for Netshield, as well as the client desktop versions of McAfee if you use them. The NT stuff is there as well.

You will have to identify one or two servers to be holders of the master copy of the DAT files. You will have to manually update these servers. Create a logical tree design for the other servers to contact for these updates. NT servers will connect to a Novell server for these updates also, you must supply a userid and password and give that user rights to read whereever you want it to grab the dat update. Once you manually update the server, it only take a few minutes for the other server to notice and they will automatically update also.

But, create a test server NT and Novell. Load the dat file there first. If the server is okay for 24 hours then copy those files to the master of you distribution tree. I've had several instances of corrupted dat files. If you are luckly antivirus stops. If you aren't, then the server abends or blue screens.
