McAfee reports virus when open article in TR IT News 9/3/09

By DadsPad ·
I recieved the IT News from TR this morning at 9:43am EST, when I open any article, McAfee reports the polls-js-packed(1).js detected as JS/Exploit-Packed.C.Gen labeled as a Trogan.

this if the first time I have found anything wrong in opening articles on TR Newsletters.

Anyone Else?

I think TR needs to investigate this quickly.

It started happening for me yesterday. Any link to launch a webpage from a TR newsletter email triggers the McAfee warning.

I also found it happening when click on original articles

in the discussion/question section. That is when you click on a discussion, then click on the link to the original article that is being discussed.

and no need for concern.

As was explained to me - McAfee is misdiagnosing some javascript files. This is happening on both TR and ZDNet.

PS: Here's a link you can read at McAfee

You may need to set your security level to medium to read the info (blame McAfee for that one)

Only thing is, what changed on your website, never happened before.

Now don't make me have to....

think on a Friday ;-)

But if I was to take a gander I would have to say it could be one of two things:

1: It's a relatively new ad

2: We have done some minor updates recently

3: Scummy broke McAfee

I place my bet on number 3
