What are the necessary steps in obtaining MCSE and A+ certifications? What is the CHEAPEST way to achieve that goal? I’m looking for study and pre-exam options, study material, etc. And also, who administers the exams, how, and where? How long couldit take? What’s the shortest time it could take? What about updating one’s certifications for software update? How will a Win2000 Certification apply to Windows XP?
Please be specific while remaining, shall I say simple.
For example: The MOSTINNEXPENSIVE way to study and prepare is … step 1, step 2, step 3, etc. The MOST INNEXPENSIVE way to take the exam is … step 1, step 2, etc.
Is there anything I forgot to ask? Any other suggestions and/or comments?
(A little background information: I’m a “self-taught” computer systems manager. I built and maintain a 35 node network (LAN); I build my own PCs (933 MHz PIII); On a scale of 1-10: Win95 knowledge = ~7 Windows NT = ~2-3; I hire an outside consultant for major NT problems; Ican handle most 95 problems myself; I built our network from scratch; I’ve been steadilly growing into this position over the last 10 years.)
