A MCSE is for a Windows operating system environment encompassing servers and workstations. CCNA is the basics of internetwork infrastructure encompassing access routers, routers, switches, campus level backbone LANs. I would recommend having both as a baseline of certifications. The MCSE ecompasses 8 seperate written tests on Windows. CCNA encompasses 1 written exam for routing and switching.

Personal feeling.. Wouldn't rush to MCSE , but maybe MCSA. Chosen track for me is..

70-270 to get an MCP
CCNA
70-290
70-291
70-299

It really is dependant how much time you have on your hands. For me I have the luck of signing on at a local night school ( college ) that runs CCNA on Mon / Tues and Microsoft courses Wed / Thurs.

Not sure where you live. If you live in the UK try www.hotcourses.com and look for a college that provides either Cisco or Microsoft training. It is exceptional cheap for the return you get.
