I am doing some general maintenance on one of my network customer’s laptops. I’ve isolated his Windows ME shutdown problems to: DCFSSVC.EXE
Problem is, I can’t find anything from the web, to tell me what this application “does”? Dell informed me it is part of the Windows ME operating system, and as such they can’t provide tech assistance (the user upgraded the OS-not from Dell).
I did reinstall the OS…. but that didn’t help, and unfortunately Microsoft is providing darn little in the way of Windows ME patches.
Anyone got a lead on where to find a fix for this problem? Or what the function of the application is, so that I can weigh whether to remove it from starting up. Thank you in advance!
