I have been playing around on my 2nd computer which happens to be a Windows XP MCE05 computer and i thought about trying the media center from XP MCE on vista. I copied the folder ehome from it onto my vista and installed .net 1.1.4322 and then everything worked out fine. I really dont know how this actually works because Media center 2005 is supposed to only work on XP MCE and this my computer is a vista ultimate. A vista ultimate would technically be equivilant to a XP Pro but Media center would not work on XP Pro even with the right version of .net framework. Then i realized that i was running the program in compatability mode for XP SP2. I didnt realize until i checked the compatability mode 2 weeks after i started testing it. i know usually older stuff is sometimes not worth testing out but i really wanted to try this out to see if it works. If you want to see, i will post some pictures of this actually working.
