Medical Office Automation Help

by slbsmith103 . Updated 14 years, 2 months ago

I work in a medical office where there is little to no automation when it comes to keeping the appointment book schedule, or having a system where all information is shared by programs to make new client info and documentation creation easier.
We currently use Medisoft (a very old version) but that’s all they have. They send off copies of the daily client roster to a separate billing company, make copies of all checks and send out for processing. Each separate step has to be done manually and verifying insurance coverages are laborious. No processes can be done effortlessly unless done by hand, writing everything, making tons of copies, literally killing trees everyday… They has asked for my input for some automation and look to this site and its users for any insight, assitance and/or guidance. Do you have any suggestions as far as programs available with moderate expense?
Please note, we have to also remain compliant with HIPAA regulations… Any info anyone can share would be greatly appreciated. I’m sooo frustrated.
Signed, At My Wits End….
