Memory could not be read error . . HELP!

Hello:
I am running Window 2000 Prof ws, and installed and using the uptime.exe utility.
When I run a script to execute uptime for multiple remote servers on the network, I will often get a pop-up Error:

‘referenced memory at ‘
‘.
The memory could not be read.
Click OK to terminate the program. <--
I installed sp1 for Window 2000, but this did not fix the problem. Any ideas? TIA
