memory dump issues

By zalemu2us ·
How can I fix memory dump issue with win98, win2k and winXP. I have tried to upgrade from win98 to win2k as well as to Win XP pro, both gave me memory dump and asked me to check BIOS setup; such as memory shadow to disable. I did disable the memory shadowing and still did not solve the memory dump problem. The motherboard is SOYO with AWARD BIOS, type of BIOS is sy-5eam+ setting. I have downloaded BIOS update for this motherboard and still did not work after upgrade.
I do thank you for an answer if I can get.

Have you try to reset the BIOS to the default settings yet?

Some addtional history leading to this problem may help to narrow down the possibilities.
a. Was the system working and suddenly stop working?
b. Did you install or upgrade hardware? What is the hardware type, make, and model?
c. Were you attempting to add more memory? What the the spec of the RAM?
d. What is the make & model of the motherboard?
d. Were you attempting to upgrade OS? If yes, from what to what? What did you do thus far?

I find this is almost always a hardware problem. First replace your RAM, sometimes removing or changing the RAM one stick at a time can show you a problem stick. I have replaced RAM on systems having trouble like this, even though the RAM test fine in the POST and I have had a lot of success. If that does not do it, then replace your video card.

Good luck,
