    Memory issue or Video?

    Locked

    by benjamin.irey ·

Trying to diagnose mobo problem: My machine won’t boot up and right as I turn it on, I get a long, shrill beep followed by two short beeps. My board is an AMD NF7 v2.0, but I can’t find the beep code for it online. I’m also getting no activity on my monitor.

Any suggestions or possibilities for narrowing down the source of the problem?

    Thanks.

I found these beep codes for your MoBo:

Beep Code — Description of Problem:
No Beeps — Short, No power, Bad CPU/MB, Loose Peripherals
One Beep — Everything is normal and Computer POSTed fine
      Two Beeps — POST/CMOS Error
One Long, One Short Beep — Motherboard Problem
One Long Two Short Beeps — Video Problem
One Long Three Short Beeps — Video Problem
Three Long Beeps — Keyboard Error
Repeated Long Beeps — Memory Error
Continuous Hi-Lo Beeps — CPU Overheating

So, I guess it is a video problem.
Check to make sure that the video card is seated properly in it’s slot (when the system is disconnected from power, of course).
      just wondering… was overclocking involved?
