Memory Map (problems)

by steve.doig . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

I have continual problems with IE or virtually any other app that causes invalid page faults with various .dll’s or .exe’s.

The memory space affected is invariably at
017f:####.

I know there’s a dos util to display memory contents but can’t remember it’s name. Perhaps there are other utils?

Win98 also causes problems with illegal operations, general protection faults, stack faults, and invalid instructions.

I have taken out half of the 128 MB of RAM whilst writing this and for thefirst time in a long time no blue screens have occured in a 10 min period.

Another possible cause may be memory incompatibility. Both modules are 133 MHz 64 RAM. Not positive if they’re both SDRAM… Could there be a conflict?

Cheers for thehelp,

Steve.
