I have an emachine running Windows XP Home that I’m having trouble running some programs. I get an Access Violation Error followed by a hexicdecimal followed by memory referenced 0xffffffff. I reinstalled the operating system, which didn’t help. Now I’m having trouble with the DVD player not reading CDs or DVDs or runs so slowly that it’s not practical.
I can’t run Memtest 86 on it because of the DVD player problem.
Is this 2 separate problems do you think or is the motherboard starting to die?
