After getting the BSOD irql not less or equal in gemsweeper, I downloaded and ran the memtest and ramprobe, both on floppy and CD. The CD did not boot up (despite changing the boot sequence in bios) and the floppy ran a series of numbers up and down the screen for over 20 mintues with no read out. Any suggestions?
