Messaging Profile

By JDSAL ·
I am looking for a solid solution for creating a messaging profile from some sort of template profile that is used when a user logs onto a PC and uses outlook for the first time to send and receive mail from our single enterprise exchange server. I've looked at Profile maker, but this solution does not allow for the insertion of the mailbox name from the login name, unless the login name matches the mailbox name. They mentioned Kixtart would be able to generate a specific format of name for use. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't mention what version of Outlook you are using. If you are using Outlook 2000, use the Office custom installation wizard to roll out to the client.

Near the end of that, there is a customize Outlook installaiton options screen where youcan set everything for the profile.

Then when the user logs on, it will open Outlook with their mailbox and the settings you gave them.

If you aren't using Outlook 2000, you may be able to use the installation wizard for office97, but I have never tried. The 2000 one works well.
