I would like to make available to all users published applications through the all users or default users profile so I can eliminate setting up the ica client for each user on every workstation Is it possible to have the short cut to the applicationin the all users folder and accessible to users with valid logon credentials.Any thoughts will be helpful.

Log onto a PC and configure the session how you want it to work.

Copy appsrv.ini from your PC. There will be a blank copy in the c:\citrix\ica client directory and the configured one should be in c:\documents and settings\your profile\application data\ica client.

You need to copy the one from your profile.

Now you need to copy this configured appsrv.ini into the c:\citrix\ica client directory of all the PC’s with the ICA Client on them.

Now, this is where the problems can start. What happens when a user opens the Citrix Neigborhood or a short cut to a Citrix Connection for the first time on a PC, a ICA Client directory will be created under the application data folder of the users profile using the appsrv.ini from c:\citrix\ica client.

If this is a preconfigured appsrv.ini, it will include all the neccessary connections and the users will be ok.

However, if the user already had a citrix connection of some sort or has already opened the citrix neighborhood, then they will already have a ica client directory in their application data directory with a almost blank appsrv.ini.

The one that you have preconfigued will not get copied to the users application data directory as one already exists.

You can get around this by setting the appsrv.ini to be copied to the users profile in a login script.

The only problem here is if the user already has other citrix connections, because you will overwrite them.

You cannot put the file in the All Users folder as it doesn’t work from there. The ICA Client will not read the appsrv.ini.

Hope this points you in the right direction.
