I've got a Micron Transport MRX but can't get any sound. No conlicts, speakers are good and volume is up. Any ideas why I get no sound either on the internal speakers or good external speakers

The one thing you can look at is what IRQ your operating system is using and match that to what's in your bios. Under PnP/PCI you should be able to set something like that either via a slot number or by audio card directly.

Another thing worth mentioning, becaue I've made the mistake, is looking the speaker function, mainly to see if it's set to quad or something obscure that'll effect this. I thought i had a dead sound card and it turned out I have it plugged into the wrong jack. A couple of times I've seen this enabled and it basically disabled the one existing plug-in (the sound card only had the one plugin, not the two required for this). This is something you can set in the multimedia applet.

Good luck to you

Mark
