I am a computer teacher at an elementary / middle school. I currently have 47 computers total on school grounds. The school purchased 60 client licenses. The license is set up as “PER SEAT”. I have given each student, grades 3-8, a user name and password. I am now receiving messages from the Server that I do not have enough licenses. Microsoft told me that I don’t need additional licenses; just one for each computer, and ?PER SEAT? is the correct setting. Microsoft also told me that every time someone signs on the Domain that a license is assigned to him or her and “should” be released when they sign off. This is not happening. What has happened is the server has given a license to each Domain users (218 of them) and is not releasing the licenses. Microsoft Licensing Department told me that settings need to be changed to correct the problem and I should call Microsoft tech support, at $240 per call. I am hoping someone here can help me first.
