Microsoft Deserves Your Appreciation

Microsoft deserves our appreciation in the sense that, for more than three decades now the company has served us tremendously in three major areas.
1. Change the way we use and interact with the computer (Changed the world)

1, Only if you squint
2. MS competed with whom, they effectively created the market.
3. Appears to be a tad missing.

Finally exactly what was the purpose of this post. How many of those who don’t agree with your proposition will be persuaded by it, do you think?

How by effectively stealing Xerox’s Graphic Interface and marketing it as their own development even though Apple had already beet them to the market with it?

What Competition???

I have yet to see any M$ got held to IBM’s Breast and nurtured to the stage that it’s at now. Prior to IBM M$ had no OS never intended to have one and was a faltering company drunkenly lurching from month to month wondering if they had enough money to pay their staff next week.

IBM made the PC and by their actions M$ what it is today a Big Bureaucracy which is incapable of fast change and is constantly attempting to repaper it’s products instead of introducing anything new.

In other words IBM made Microsoft into another IBM. But at least now IBM accepts that there is no money in PC’s so they have moved entirely to the Software Market and have released Innovative Products where as M$ has stuck with ever more complicated and convoluted code to make Windows the current disaster that it is and forcing the other OS providers to grow a product that is so much better.

Sorry but I missed the third thing which just isn’t there. So what was it?

MS should have consumer appreciation along with money now?

Or am I just supposed to be “forever in their debt”? Like some other “higher power”, perhaps?

I’ll save my appreciation for individuals who do make a real positive difference in anything. I will, however, comment positively when I think MS has finally done a good job at something, or fixed a 20 year-old bug, or whatever. I don’t think it is really appreciation, though.
