microsoft excel paramveer 2

In Excel, if I copy a cell containing a formula down the column to copy to adjustment rows, i need formula increase sequentially for example if a1 = 5, a1 =2, a3= 4 and then i use coloum no. m4 =a1 i.e. 5 but when i copy m4 paste it on m6 the result is m6=a3 i.e. 4 but i need m6=a2 how can i copy formula

Who needs the help feature anyway? ...

... Click in the cell you want( M4 ), then type '=A1' in the text bar, hit enter. Click back in M4, and a black box will appear around the cell. In the bottom right corner there will be a little black square, drag that square down the 'M' column, until it matches your 'A' column.

As per what you say I believe it is working as per design. If you want any other way than you have to enter individual fields/cells individually.
