Microsoft I.E6 and O.E6

I’m running on a 4 years compute system,Pentium200 MMX and 64MB EDO RAM.Initially I used I.E5.0 and O.E5 and recently I had upgraded to I.E6 and O.E6.I would like to know due to this software upgrade on my Win98 will it slow down my internet surfingperformance and normal usage on my p.c?
