Microsoft IIS 4.0

By Lost Cause? ·
I am going to take the Microsoft IIS 4.0 certification exam. I can not find in any of my books how to tie two (2) IP addresses to the same Web Site. Do I use the "Advanced" button on the Default Web Site?

Well, first of all you just choose the ip in the field that states ip address in the normal properties. Before you will be able to use the website you will need to add a record such as , port 80 , and it will have to match the ip address listed on the properties page. Also, note that whatever ip address you choose must be Binded to the network card on that server and if this is going to be a website for the internet it will need a DNS entry with the correct A-record and CNAME record. By the way the test is not that hard if you have spent a little time setting some sites up.

More IIS...

Thanks for the reply. A friend took the test and said that this question was on his exam. I just couldn't find it anywhere. I know about bindind two IP's to a NIC and setting up the DNS records. But tying two IP addresses to the same Web Site eludedme. I'm just getting started with IIS and there may be more questions as I go along. I take the exam tomorrow morning.
