Microsoft ISA

By Mick@work ·
Folks,

I need to supplement our firewall with something to monitor users web access and if possible to cache web pages and restrict what users can see and control how long they can access the web for in a week.

We currently have a raptor firewall so the proxy/isa server would most likely sit on the inside of this and handle incoming/outgoing traffic

thanks for any advice

I use the ISA and am very happy. No real problems, easy to install and maintain. Bad feature too expensive.

Does an ISA server require a powerful Nt/2000 box?

If so would it need lots of RAM & disk space?

thanks again

Hi,Yes its possible to implement a detailed access policy. You can use URL filtering/Content Rules/Protocol Rules/routing Rules to restrict access to certain websites.
Next part I am not sure weather you can restrict the time. You can control the BW usage but time limit i am not sure.I recommend reading the documentation.
Best Regards
